• Universal Engineering Sciences, Inc. (Universal) is a consulting engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, hydrologic/geophysical, environmental sciences, construction materials testing, and threshold inspection. Universal is a growing, competitive firm with a strong position and reputation in our industry. We are a dynamic firm that is always looking for ways to provide enhanced services. With this in mind, we have added some new service areas including building/private provider inspection (PPI), plan review and geophysical engineering to our already wide range of construction-related services.

• Our Mission. Universal's mission is to provide our services with a focus on understanding our client's individual needs and exceeding their expectations. We will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to make it happen!

• Our Philosophy. Universal believes that successful projects are conceived, planned, designed and implemented by a project team consisting of owner representatives, engineers, design professionals and selected independent contractors, all working together to achieve specific goals. Universal's professional standards require that we exceed your goals and expectations on any given project or task, regardless of any obstacle which may present itself from initiation to completion. Hard work, sound technical interpretations, and timely results are the foundation of our organization's philosophy and mission.

• From our headquarters in Orlando, Florida, we operate a large (600+ employee) engineering firm with nineteen (19) offices strategically located throughout Florida and Georgia. These offices provide services throughout the southeastern United States.

• Universal was founded in 1964 in Merritt Island, Florida, by Seymour Israel, Chairman and CEO.

• Our headquarters moved to Orlando, Florida in 1968.

• Universal is family-owned and operated. Our president, Mark Israel, P.E., received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Tulane University in 1987, and his Master of Business Administration degree from Rollins College in 1989. Mark joined the firm in 1988 and was appointed as its president in 2001.

• Universal celebrated 40 years in business in 2004.

• Universal was ranked No. 206 in the Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firms list for the year 2005 and we moved up to No. 185 in 2007. We have been in the Top 500 listing for the past 23 years running!

• Universal is the largest family-owned firm of its kind in the United States!
