CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING SERVICES
Universal's modern laboratories are routinely inspected by the Concrete Materials Engineering Council, AASHTO, and/or the Army Corps of Engineers. Most laboratories are also approved by the Florida Department of Transportation to perform materials testing on State funded highway projects. The firm's basic approach to Construction Materials Testing and Threshold Inspection Services is that our services are meant to enhance the construction element, and not to be detrimental to the timely completion of the project. |

GEOTECHNICAL/GEOPHYSICAL ENGINEERING
Universal is experienced in providing geotechnical services, with cost effective solutions, on the most difficult of sites. Utilizing experienced staff engineers, and its own drilling and sampling department, Universal is committed to quality and rapid response. Our field equipment is assigned permanently throughout our office network to assure timely response regardless of project location. |

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Our Environmental Services Department includes geologists, engineers, environmental scientists, and remedial systems technicians. This department provides services in groundwater resource evaluations, underground storage tank management, effluent disposal and groundwater contamination studies, environmental site assessments, and remediation services. The department provides regulatory compliance, air pollution source permitting (Title V), controls design, air sampling, dispersion modeling, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene services, coupled with asbestos and lead-based paint surveys. |

THRESHOLD INSPECTION SERVICES
In order to assure structural component conformance of larger structures, the State of Florida Building Construction Standards enacted Chapter 553, which defined a threshold building as: "Any building which is greater than three stories or 50 feet in height, or which has an assembly occupancy classification that exceeds 5,000 square feet in area and an occupant capacity of greater than 500 persons." Universal Engineering Sciences prides itself on being a valuable asset to the construction team. When performing threshold inspections, our duties are to OBSERVE, REPORT and FACILITATE. |

DRILLING SERVICES
Universal has a drilling staff which includes licensed well contractors and registered well drillers. This field experienced team is fully equipped to provide drilling services on land or over water. With this in-house Drilling Department, Universal is able to maintain greater control over all field operations and respond more rapidly to emergency requests. We currently operate 35 drill rigs, including track mounted and mud-bugs, one of which is the largest of its type in the Southeastern United States. |

PRIVATE PROVIDER INSPECTIONS
Universal can now provide private Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) inspections and plan review in lieu of local Building Departments. Private Inspections can be used on rehabilitation, repairs, alterations, or additions. Private plan review can save time, reduce costs, and prevent technical delays in permitting. We also offer training of personnel or subcontractors. You now have a reliable, cost effective, legally sound alternative to County or City inspections.
PROPERTY CONDITION SURVEYS & Other Surveys
Universal’s property condition assessment includes an evaluation of the building structural elements, lighting, doors, HVAC, electrical systems, pavement, plumbing, landscaping, roof, flooring, fire and security systems, and handicap accessibility.
